This guide explains how to create and manage discounts in the My Takeaway App. Discounts can be set as a fixed amount or percentage, scheduled for specific days/times, and applied to delivery, collection, or first-time customers.
The Discount feature allows you to:
- Configure discounts as an amount or percentage
- Apply discounts to Delivery, Collection, or Both order types.
- Set conditions such as a minimum order value, expiry dates & days of the week.
- Control which platforms (Website, App, or Both) the discount is applied to.
- Restrict discounts to first-time customers only if required.
- Schedule discounts, i.e. specific times of the day
- Open the My Takeaway app on your smartphone.
- Tap the “Hamburger” menu (≡) in the top left corner.
- Select Promotions → Discounts.
- Tap the “+” (plus) icon to create a new discount.
- Complete the setup fields:
- Discount Active – enable or disable the discount.
- Discount Type – choose Amount (enter number) or Percentage (enter %).
- Minimum Order – set the minimum order value required.
- Expiry Date – set an end date, or leave empty to run until disabled.
- Discount Between – set the time range for the discount.
- Order Type – choose Both, Delivery, or Collection.
- Select Platform – choose App, Website, or Both.
- First-Time Users Only – Yes = applies only to new customers, No = applies to all.
- Days – choose which days of the week the discount applies.
- Tap Save to confirm.
Result: Your discount will now apply to eligible orders based on the conditions you set.
Best Practice: Always set a clear expiry date and minimum order value to avoid misuse of discounts.
