This guide explains how to transfer your business account to a new owner using the My Takeaway App. It covers the full process for both the Old Owner and the New Owner, including account transfer, hardware handover, payment settlement, and Datman registration for online and in-store payments.
The Change of Ownership feature allows you to:
- Transfer business ownership from the Old Owner to the New Owner.
- Manage any outstanding or positive balances during the transfer.
- Notify Foodhub automatically and trigger email updates to the New Owner.
- Allow the New Owner to confirm charges, rentals, and subscriptions.
- Send a Datman registration link to set up payment processing.
- Open the second email and click “Click Here to Update Details”.
- Enter personal details and confirm:
- Received hardware from the Old Owner?
- Willing to clear any negative balance?
- Enter business details:
- Business Name
- Takeaway Email, Phone Number, Manager Number
- Choose account elements to retain (e.g., existing domain URL, website changes, menu updates).
- Confirm the Effective Date of Account Transfer.
- Set up Direct Debit.
- Click Submit and Activate.
⚠️ Important: If the outstanding balance is not cleared by either owner, the customer database will not transfer and will be treated as a new sale.
